Job Description

Reporting to the Supervisor, School Crossing Assistance Program, or designate, be responsible, in the absence of the regular Crossing Guard, for directing the crossing of school-age children and pedestrians across a highway at an assigned location/intersection during designated periods. Job Responsibilities

Duties include directing the movement of children across a highway; maintaining contact with school(s) and reporting student problems; notifying supervisor of unsafe conditions, traffic violations and problems; participating in data collection; assisting in the training of new Crossing Guards or Rover Crossing Guards; distributing materials and equipment to Crossing Guards; and providing back-up relief to the Supervisor.
